密西西比河High River Season即将到来，High River Season通常在每年的三月中旬开始，持续到五月中旬或六月结束。在这段时期，河水流速将会变得湍急，通常会达到4-6节（在一些河道弯曲处可能会达到7节）。另外，河水流速加快也会加剧河滩变浅，由于美国政府今年缩减了用于疏浚河道的挖泥船的预算，河滩变浅的情况也会因此更为严重。

        同时还应该注意河面上雾气的影响，春季冰冷的河水与Baton Rouge到河口流域这一地区的亚热带气候产生效应，导致通常河面上会有30英尺（10米）厚的浓雾。因此，在这样的情况下，船舶航行应更加谨慎。

        协会建议在执行到密西西比河流域的航次之前，由于河滩情况和实际限制情况在High River Season经常发生变化，应监控每日的NOBOT/MCR(New Orleans Board of Trade Marine River Currents )和登陆引航员的官网对相关情况进行妥善查询。相关邮箱和网址如下：
