On Tuesday, 11 December 2018, COSCO SHIPPING Lines Co., Ltd officially entered its ULCS M/V COSCO SHIPPING SAKURA into CPI. With a capacity of 13800 TEU and 143,179 GT, the mega-vessel sets a new record for the total entered tonnage of CPI, which now exceeds 60 Million GT. 

At the dawn of the 35th anniversary of CPI, the Association’s business scale has reached brand new heights. While remaining true to our original aspiration, the Association will take this opportunity to embark on a journey to plan future development and strive to make it happen. CPI will look to members of the International Group of P&I Clubs and make efforts to improve service for members and optimize its global layout in order to assist in China's development plans in the shipping industry and help build the“21st Century Maritime Silk Road”.
