On 25 May, CPI Board Director and Chairman of Shandong Shipping Corporation (SDSC) Mr. Yu Bing led a visit to CPI, along with Deputy General Managers Ms. Gu Zhiwei and Mr. Li Maozhong. CPI Managing Director Dr. Song Chunfeng, Deputy Managing Director Mr. Liu Yutong and Deputy Managing Director Mr. Gong Xiqian attended the meeting.

CPI Managing Director Dr. Song Chunfeng warmly welcomed Mr. Yu Bing and the team and extended his appreciation for the support of SDSC. Dr. Song pointed out that to deepen beneficial cooperation, CPI will provide service to members wholeheartedly and improve service quality continuously. 

Chairman Mr. Yu Bing conveyed SDSC’s gratitude for the quality service provided by CPI. Mr. Yu said that SDSC is enforcing the “going global” strategy, and fully improving vessel operations towards a win-win situation and a common development. In order to achieve further cooperation, both parties will work together in coordination and mutual support to seek development and business opportunities. 

On the day, the delivery ceremony of the bulk carrier named SHANDONG DE XIANG with capacity of 180,000 DWT was held in Shanghai. This is the first vessel built for the project of SDSC and RWE Group. SDSC Chairman Mr. Yu Bing was in attendance and gave a speech. The vessel was designed and manufactured by the newest standards of energy efficiency and environmental protection, and an internationally advanced level of shipbuilding techniques was implemented. CPI underwrote the P&I and H&M insurance of the vessel.
