CPI Hosts Regional Seminar

On 18 March 2021, the CPI Regional Seminar was held in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu. It is the first seminar after the domestic COVID-19 pandemic situation stabilized in 2021. Managers and relevant representatives from Jiangsu Huaxi Ship Management Co., Ltd., Everest Shipping Pte Ltd., Zhangjiagang Oceanic Wit Shipping., Ltd., Shanghai Huayuan Shipping Co., Ltd. attended the seminar.

In the Seminar, CPI Underwriting Department Deputy General Manager Mr. Cruise Jiang introduced the latest developments and service philosophy of CPI. He recalled the unforgettable experience of CPI and Members overcoming the difficulties together during the COVID-19 pandemic and expressed his sincere gratitude for the trust and support of members over the years.

In the following Loss Prevention session, Zhangjiagang Maritime Safety Administration Director General Mr. Song Ruqing introduced the navigation safety precautions in the Yangtze River for sea vessel river navigation. CPI Claims Department II Deputy General Manager Mr. Kevin Jia communicated with member representatives about emergency measures after marine accidents. CPI Claims Department I Senior Claims Manager Mr. Ren Yanming focused on the members’ concerns and answered questions combining several typical oil pollution incidents, and bills of lading regarding oil pollution for members. CPI Hull Department Claims Manager Mr. Jeremy Liu discussed with member representatives on legal and practical issues in collision cases drawing on previous case handling experiences.

The seminar was well received by participants focusing on the targeted, timely, and interactive topics of concern. As a significant part of loss prevention, CPI will continue to carry out various forms of seminars reaching out to more regions and audiences, and work together with members to improve ship safety management and prevent operation risks.
