Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board Visits CPI

4 December in the morning, Under Secretary for the Transport and Housing Bureau of Hong Kong Dr. Raymond So Wai-Man led the visit of the Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board to CPI. CPI Deputy Managing Director Mr. Gong Xiqian and relevant CPI staffs attended the meeting with Dr. So and the team, where they covered topics such as marine insurance, vessel registration and legal service, and explored new areas of cooperation. Principal Assistant Secretary for Transport and Housing Miss Vicky Cheung, Counsel and Legal Director at Hill Dickinson and Principle Representative of the ICS (China) Liaison Office Mr. Edward Liu, Hong Kong Sea Transport and Logistics Association Chairman Mr. Alex Chan, Hong Kong Marine Department Surveyor of Ships/Security & Quality Assurance (Ag.) Mr. Xiang Datian, InvestHK Head of Transport & Industrial Mr. Benjamin Wong, Hong Kong Trade Development Council Senior Service Promotion Manager Ms. Anna Cheung attended the meeting.

Deputy Managing Director Mr. Gong Xiqian expressed his warm welcome to Dr. So and the team, and subsequently gave an overview of CPI and its developments in Hong Kong. Mr. Gong said that the HKSAR government put great emphasis in the shipping industry and has given tremendous support to the Hong Kong ventures of CPI over the years. In the future, CPI looks forward to deepening communication, seizing the great opportunity from the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area in order to work collaboratively and cooperatively to make high-quality developments.

Under Secretary Dr. So spoke highly of the success that CPI has achieved, summarized the purpose of the trip to Shanghai, and provided details about the Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board. Dr. So said that the HKSAR government has continued to push for service upgrade within the shipping industry, and has issued many incentives and beneficial policies. The Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board will continue to support CPI’s developments in Hong Kong by providing even better service to shipping entities and relevant organizations including CPI.
